OCC reports April cleared lending volume spike

The average daily loan value recorded by the Options Clearing Corporation (OCC) in April was $116.69 billion, up 87.5 per cent from the same month last year.

Cleared securities lending activity increased 26.5 per cent in new loans in April, year-on-year (YoY), with 141,482 transactions last month.

Across all products, total cleared contract volume was 715.6 million contracts, up 29.7 per cent compared to April 2020 and the highest April volume on record.

Year-to-date average daily cleared contract volume through April was 40.1 million contracts, up 44.1 per cent compared to the same period in 2020.
